Bonaire is
a small island in the Dutch Antilles close to Curacao, Aruba and
Venezuala. Its known for its incredibly varied beach diving and for excellent
flat water windsurfing.
The island is true desert island having no natural
freshwater and a ton of cacti.
Felix and I both being unemployed at the moment
thought this would be a nice place to start looking for a job.
Old Lighthouse
Hangin' out. Bonaire windsurfing I am sure is excellent in season, but well we got a cheap deal
We were not so
lucky with the wind this trip, forcing big sails and high volume boards
to be used.
This
sail is an 8.5 Gaastra with a a 125L Bic techno. Wind was about 16 knots.
Felix
impressing the local donkeys with his rally driving skills. From this picture
you can also see that a 4 wheel drive is not really as necessary, as some
of the local car hire companies might have you believe.
The
national park recommends 4 wheel drive but we didn't think it was so necessary.
Impressed Bonaire Donkey.
The donkey
was asking if I knew the wind forecast for the afternoon.
One of 8 Billion
lizards to that can be found on Bonaire.
